I've been reading over linux-kernel and there seem to be a lot of
complaints about 2.2.6 and up freezing for no appearant reason. Many
people say they have the same signs as me [us?]. The total freeze-up, no
numlock/capslock light toggle, no magickeys, black screen, etc. The
common thread in most of those setups seemed to be SCSI cards, SMP,
and NFS. Dunno if this helps anyone personally, but you might want to
take a look into the archives.
