Hello,
I tried install Redhat 6.1 in our system (peer bus architecture and
dual IO APIC). After installation, during the booting shows: kmod: on
08:06 failed to exec /sbin/modprob -s -k block-major-8, error=2
kernel panic: VFS cannot open root device 08:06
I find out if booting from linux-up (uni processor) kernel is OK.
booting from linux (smp) kernel crash. I going to make menuconfig to
enable Symmetric multiprocessing support on Processor type and
feature. Kernel rebuilt no problems. after booting problem still
there.
I purchased 6.1 from redhat called DELUXE version.
Redhat 6.0 work just fine in same machine
Best Regards,
Bin Cheng
