My
Gateway (ALR) dual 450Mhz server doesn't allow logins on the console by any
ID. Telnet sessions by user accounts are fine and you can SU via
telnet. When you try to login the login name goes to a greyed out state
(still showing the login name) but the password prompt never comes up. You
have the option to shutdown or reboot but clicking either causes the original
login box (with greyed out name) to clear and you're presented with a new login
box. From the telnet session you are able to issue a shutdown -r
"now" or -h and the system reboots or halts as directed. I've
tried from both graphical and text based logins, neither
work.
Any
ideas?
