We're running several SMP boxes with a 2.2.6 kernel with good results. A
quad ppro fileserver/cluster console was up for 190+ days when someone
simply turned off the power (grrrr). Several dual PIII boxes have been
running 2.2.12 for 100+ days. Even our 21264/EV6 alphas are pretty stable
with 2.2.12. One of them has been up for 105 days, but they average a
little less than half that. Pick your kernel revision carefully (e.g.
avoid kernels between 2.2.7 and 2.2.11, I'm not so sure about > 2.2.12)
and you should do fine.
