List Group Members, I have a SuperMicro P6DLE which I would very much like to convert to Linux, to run Oracle 8i. It has two 233MHZ boxed PentiumII's with the Intel fans. I just rebooted it after running all day and the board reported CPU temperatures of 47 and 49 C. I've seen much discussion about signal 11, but no one else seems to get signal 8, with signal.h in the include/sys directory defines as SIGFPE -- floating point exception. Is it possible I have a bad floating point unit which has never caused a problem bad enough to panic NT? I've been using the system for nearly two years now, as an Oracle NT server. It doesn't get terribly stressed, but I use Sun servers and work and I'd like to use the same scripts. NT says "huh?". I have as yet been unable to get any help on this. Thank you.
