Can you give me a little more specific information on
'Threadtime', like the publisher or the ISBN? I can't seem
to find it anywhere (online). And I have the same question
regarding Alan Cox's recommendation of 'Rusty's
Locking-howto'.
By the way, I been referring to Butenhof's _Programming
with POSIX Threads_ and Vahalia's _UNIX Internals_. Butenhof
is full of useful examples, but doesn't really address
issues outside of using the API effectively, and doesn't
usually bother with "deep explanations of relevant issues".
I found it a useful place to start writing code, but now I'm
feeling it's not adequate. UNIX internals is a pretty decent
introduction to the topic of operating system internals, but
it's not oriented to SMP.
