as I said, the 15G/platter generation, 7200 RPM.  take your choice.

IBM DTLA's, for instance, do 35 (depending on zone, of course).
and a Maxtor DM40+ will hit 32 on udma66, but only around 28 on udma33,
and it's only a 10G/platter disk.

those are both MEASURED numbers.
