Sorry, I seem to have cancelled the edit on the previous reply, sending
out a pure quote and nothing else..
In Linux-2.2, NT definitely scales better on much networking and
filesystem load. Even on just 4 CPU's, never mind 8.
All the current numbers indicate that Linux-2.4 is the other way around.
And yes, there are a number of 8-CPU systems in use in various places,
and scalability has been one of the major issues for 2.4.
