Heya...

Digging around most audaciously in lynx, I find this to be the best place
to get an answer for the following:

When the ibmtr.o module stays active too long, the system hangs.

The exact error message varies a lot, except for always ending with 'in
swapper task - not syncing'

It also points at dev:<NULL>, dev:eth0 and ofcourse, dev:tr0

If you need the exact message to point at a fix, I'll be...uhm...unhappy
to intentionally crash my system and take note of the exact message.

What may also be interesting to know, is the exact hardware configuration
of the machine in question.

On the ISA bus: two 3c509s, and a tr turbo-16, set to behave as auto16.
On the PCI bus: adaptec 2940, with 7 SCSI drives working in raid (though
leaving raid out didn't leave the hangups out)

Two 233mmx processors are running at 133mhz
256mb of completely identical A-Brand memory (32mb edo simms)

on the IDE bus is a WD2560

The onboard stuff is switched off after me getting very sick and very
tired of them conflicting so much.

Also, it all worked _great_ under 2.2.15, and no longer works under
2.2.16.

If anyone knows of a kernel that works great with this setup, and doesn't
have a setuid bug, I'd love to hear which one it is.

(also keep in mind I'm not on the mailing list when replying)

Thankyou for your time...
