I can't do 800x600x256 ...

I can't do 800x600x256 in Savage4 16MB???

I have one problem for to configure my SVGA screen mode.
I use de intruction vga_setmode(G800x600x256) or other SVGA mode, and
then i only have a black screen.
I can't draw some figure in this.
somebody may can help me...?
