graphics programming

hello, I just installed svgalib on my linux cause I want to do
some games programming.  It all installed fine, by the way I
have Debian Linux 2.18.  I tried to write a simple program,
including the file vga.h, but any of the functions I try to
use come up as undefined reference calls.  What do I need to
do to fix this??
