Hi,

I try to get my Iomega Ditto 800 floppy tape under LINUX 2.0.36
(SuSe 6.0) to work.
Without much success sofar. I followed the instructions in the Readme
and in the INSTALL.txt,
downloaded ftape-4.02, compiled the kernel without ftape, compiled
ftape ( some patch was needed)
- everything fine. loaded ftape and zftape as module- ok. I could even
format one tape without
problem using one of the "raw" devices.

Now, wen I use something like
ftmt -f /dev/ftape status or tar cf /dev/ftape
some-file
I get "Device not configured" error.

What does this mean, what am I doing wrong?

The Ditto 800 is connected to the FDC together with the floppy ( which
is not used )

Any help needed.
please reply directly to me, since I'm not on the mailing list.

thank you

Bert Radke
