1. Install the kernel-source RPM from your Red Hat 6.0 CD (or download it
off of Red Hat's FTP site)
2. Run make xconfig on the kernel source, and configure it without floppy
tape support.
3. Run make dep on your configured source.
4. Get a snapshot copy of the new ftape-4.0x from the web site's
"unstable" directory.
5. Edit the MCONFIG of the snapshot, and install it as normal.
Worked for me on my Red Hat system.
