Hello,
I have a Sony SDT-5000 DAT tape drive. It supports DSS-2 tapes, how-ever
it does not seem to see DDS-2 tapes as DDS-2, only DDS-1. This is using
a Sony tape. The system is RedHat 6.1 :
The SCSI controller is `aic7xxx'.

I do not know if this a problem with the tape drive, or the driver
software. I would welcome feedback from others using the same drive, or
suggestions about now I can debug the problem.
Thanks.
