Hi,
Sorry, but I cant help you with your problem. All I can say is that it
may be a problem with the SuSE 6.3 distribution.
Under my old setup (aic7xxx driver version 4.1.1 with kernel version
2.0.33) I had no problems with my WangDAT 3200 tape drive.
However when I installed SuSE Linux 6.3 (aic7xxx driver version 5.1.21
with kernel version 2.2.13) the drive was no longer detected.
I have tried everything I can think of, but I still cant get it to
work. The driver seems to detect that there is 'something' attached to
the SCSI controller with the correct SCSI Id, but the drive is not
listed in the boot messages or in the /proc/scsi/scsi listing.
I dont think that this is a scsi tape driver problem because by
Exabyte tape drive is recognised and works correctly.
Does anybody know of any problems, or have any suggestions ?
(more details of the problem available on request)
Cheers
Alun
