The individual HCD drivers can have their debugging level raised by
modifying the code.  Search for DEBUG.

A number of the drivers have very good documentation.  I have also
posted a usb-skeleton driver to try to help people out.  It can be found
in the -ac kernel tree right now, or in the archives of this list.
