Hi, I have a IBM Thinkpad i1200 series (Intel Celeron & PCI ). I have installed versions Redhat 6.1, 7.1 and 7.2 on my PC. I have not been able to get my USB ports working as the Kernel Hangs while booting up if I compile it with USB-OHCI Controller support. My device should be OHCI. The default Laptop kernel of RH7.1 & 7.2 have USB-OHCI support enabled, this prevents installation. I have been able to go ahead with installation using workarounds but have never been able to get the USB to work. (I have a USB Floppy drive which the bios supports and a USB CDRW).
I have tried USB-UHCI, this does not hang the PC. In this case I can see the /proc/bus/usb/drivers -files but my /proc/bus/usb/devices is empty. Is this familiar to somebody? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
