I have an SuSE 6.4(7.0?) based 2.2.16-SMP running on one machine, with some additional packages. The usbstress-0.3 package (from Thomas Sailer) has given me the best hints, what's to install/upgrade to get an 2.2.16 kernel and the new /pro/bus/usb working with usbcore.o.
