I just tried 2.2.20 and 2.4.17: both have same problem (maybe messages a bit
different, but very similar):

usb-uhci.c: v1.268:USB Universal Host Controller Interface driver
hub.c: port 1 connection change
hub.c: port 1, portstatus 101, change 1, 12 Mb/s
hub.c: port 1, portstatus 103, change 0, 12 Mb/s
hub.c: USB new device connect on bus2/1, assigned device number 2
usb-uhci.c: interrupt, status 2, frame# 122
usb.c: USB device not responding, giving up (error=-84)
hub.c: port 1, portstatus 103, change 0, 12 Mb/s
hub.c: USB new device connect on bus2/1, assigned device number 3
usb.c: unable to get device descriptor (error=-84)

Both 2.2.20 and 2.4.17 work ok on a 440ZX mb (using same printer and same
usb cable).

If there's a known fix for i815E I'd like to know if it can be backported to
2.2.x because I prefer not to run 2.4.x for now.

Thanks.
