Yeah, it would have been nicer to do the diff from the directory outside of the source tree. That way it would have added the extra linux/... or a/... b/... directories. (Note, the a/ and b/ come from bitkeeper exported diffs, we don't name our directories a/ and b/ usually :) And yes, I do have some automated scripts and tools that I use to apply patches, but this one worked just fine, and I've added it to my 2.5 tree, and will send the patch on to Linus later today.
