I am using Maxxtro cable with 2.4.18 as well. No problems with keyboard. Only wheel in the mouse does not work (I have PS2 keyboard and PS2 Logitech MouseMan+ mouse connected through Maxxtro). I have legacy USB keyboard/mouse set in my BIOS.
