Bleah, I really don't want to add such a change.
Sergio, can you get access to a Windows machine and see if your device
fails the USB tests that the program USBCV runs? That program can be
found at:
http://www.usb.org/developers/tools
If you don't have a high speed device, try the USBCheck program on that
same page.
Please let us know if any tests fail on that device or not.
