we have no special "kernel needs", so using libusb should not be to
hard for us. Actually another project for the MPIO uses it already.

But I'm a bit concerned about I/O performance. The MPIO players itself
are not the fastest and we never we able to actually push the
performance to its limit.

Are there any experiences how well a libusb implementation "behaves"
in comparison to a kernel implementation.
