After what I thought was a successful upgrade to 2.6.0.test8 from 2.4.22-xfs I found that my USB cable modem, Motorola Surfboard SB4200 is not working. After trying the following command I'm still none the wiser.
A workaround that probably suffices:
http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=linux-kernel&m=106589826820608&w=2
A patch that eliminates the need for that workaround, so that it works "out of the box" like 2.4 does:
http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=linux-kernel&m=106642331707224&w=2
And if you notice other (long-standing) problems, try this patch:
http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=linux-kernel&m=106657626632464&w=2
I've asked Greg to merge those two patches into test9.

p.s. In the future, please make your "Subject:" lines descriptive, and try to give list archives at least a quick search. Those patches were certainly cross-posted to this list.
