My bad, I was assuming a status set to something other than
USB_ST_NOERROR would cause problems. Generally when I see -status I
assume bad things :-)

Thats ok then - I'll see what is happening later on in the sequence. The
delay I added certainly adds to stability but the key still seems to get
itself confused at some point (under heavy writes) and give up
responding to commands. I thought if I parse the commands I may have a
better idea why.
