Doh. OK, right you are :-) It seems to me that the approach satisfying all requirements would be a combined approach using a reject flag and a waitqueue. It just occured to me that the reject flag is essentially what we need to eventually solve the soft disconnect problem :-) If you don't mind I'll make a patch tomorrow, as it is past midnight here.
