Fair enough :) I'm half inclined to blame my compiler at the moment -- by playing with extra delays I did manage to make it send BLOCK1 and then receive BLOCK2 OK, before timing out on BLOCK3 (the main firmware). If I insert a 'return -1' before BLOCK3, but after BLOCK2, then BLOCK1 doesn't work either.
