I've recently bought an Advanced Port Replicator for a Dell Inspiron 8500, and I am not able to make USB 2.0 work with it. I'm using kernel 2.4.27 but I've tried also 2.6.8.
If I do not load the ehci-hcd module everything works but at USB1 speed if I load the ehci-hcd and tried to access any USB device connected to the APR I get lots of errors: For example, trying to access a webcam, pwc Failed to set LED on/off time. pwc set_video_mode(176x144 @ 10, palette 15). pwc decode_size = 1. pwc Using alternate setting 2. hcd.c: use explicit queuing not urb->next pwc isoc_init() submit_urb 0 failed with error -22 hcd.c: use explicit queuing not urb->next pwc isoc_init() submit_urb 1 failed with error -22 if I unload the ehci-hcd it works again. It seems that there is some kind of problem with the APR as Dell had to provide a USB update to make it works under Windows, but after the update USB1 and USB2 devices may be used together without problems. Any clue? Any posibility to contact Dell and ask them what they do to fix that problem?
