Please don't send HTML (or even XHTML!) mail to any mailing list. Among other things, lots of people (and lists!) will just filter it out. > where do I > find the linux-usb-devel list archives and where can I find your > patches. <br> The www.linux-usb.org website lists two such archives; I use marc.theaimsgroup.com (pleasantly retro looks!) but others like www.mail-archive.com (non-excessive HTML). Don't bother with the archive sourceforge points you at. > Are these patches for the 2.4 kernel or 2.6 as I am using 2.4 and > cannot migrate to 2.6 even though I want to.<span class="moz-smiley-s2"><span> The EHCI patch should be easy to convert to 2.4 ... someone should do that, but it's not something I'm likely to make time for. There's some minor patch application error, but the fixes are simple and should work fine on 2.4 too. Here's a chance to help improve the 2.4 kernel ... ;) The patch to reset devices that misbehave isn't going to be easy to get going on 2.4; I wouldn't bother, you're much better off upgrading to 2.6 kernels. You may not need that; I've been doing a lot of rsync-to-Maxtor lately, with just that EHCI patch, and it's been working like a charm. So I'd expect your "updatedb" would be happier too. - Dave > Lately, lots of folk have been reporting problems with drives just > offlining themselves.
