Subject: [Bugme-new] [Bug 4075] New: ACPI suspend to ram breaks USB

http://bugme.osdl.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4075

Summary: ACPI suspend to ram breaks USB
    Kernel Version: 2.6.11_rc1
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
             Owner: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
         Submitter: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Distribution: Gentoo
Hardware Environment: IBM ThinkPad T30, Pentium 4 2.0 GHz
Software Environment: Kernels 2.6.10 and 2.6.11_rc1
Problem Description:

After suspend to RAM (ACPI S3), the system wakes perfectly except for the USB 1
device. Any USB device attached continues to work, but no new ones are
accepted.

Example: If my optical mouse it not attached when suspending, then it will not
work when I attach it after waking up - the red light does not even come on. If
it was already attached, it continues to work, but if I detach it the log is
flooded with errors, and reattaching it has no effect.

Here are the errors produced when I remove a mouse that has been attached while
suspending:

Jan 21 14:10:17 [logger] Software suspend to ram.
Jan 21 14:10:32 [kernel] done
Jan 21 14:10:32 [logger] Woke up from suspend.
Jan 21 14:10:32 [kernel] agpgart: Found an AGP 2.0 compliant device at
0000:00:00.0.
Jan 21 14:10:39 [kernel] drivers/usb/input/hid-core.c: input irq status -84
received
                - Last output repeated 1398 times -
Jan 21 14:11:13 [logger] ACPI group ac_adapter / action ac_adapter received
(ac_adapter AC 00000080 00000000)

The problem appears identically on kernel 2.6.10 and 2.6.11_rc1

I will attach my kernel config file and the output from dmesg.
