When I unplugged the drive again all I got was this:

Mar 31 18:55:03 localhost kernel: ehci_hcd 0000:00:02.2: GetStatus port 1 status
001002 POWER sig=se0 CSC
Mar 31 18:55:03 localhost kernel: usb 3-1: USB disconnect, address 6
Mar 31 18:55:03 localhost kernel: usb 3-1: unlink qh32-0001/ddc8b100 start 31
[7/0 us]
Mar 31 18:55:04 localhost kernel: scsi3 (0:0): rejecting I/O to dead device
Mar 31 18:55:04 localhost kernel: printk: 25 messages suppressed.
Mar 31 18:55:04 localhost kernel: Buffer I/O error on device sda1, logical
block 0
Mar 31 18:55:04 localhost kernel: lost page write due to I/O error on sda1

Any ideas? It seems like if I diconnect the drive, or plug it back in, very
quickly before doing the opposite that I have hangs... Is it possible that there
is bad data being written to one of my structures?
