On PCs, names like NVidia, SiS, ATI, ULI, Apple, Philips, NEC, and for older chips CMD, OPTi, and Compaq come quickly to mind. Or to be more generic, pretty much anything except chips from Intel or VIA.
Of course, Apple. I should have thought of it, especially because I write these emails on a Mac. I just never see Mac as a potential Linux box.
On embedded hardware, pretty much everyone integrating on a SOC who's not using something like the Mentor or TDI IP for high speed; do an "ls" of the drivers/usb/host/ohci-*.c and you'll get a quick snapshot of what 2.6.11 supports, though it's not a complete list of what runs with Linux (there are SOCs which aren't yet merged).
My guess is that PXA27x host controller is just an SA1111 clone put on that chip so it is reasonable to assume it broken. I will know soon. We are getting our new PXA270-based boards in a few weeks.
I had the same thought; although enough time has passed that maybe Intel decided to do something better. That we've not gotten PXA27x OHCI bug reports on this issue doesn't necessarily mean the bug isn't there.
Yep. It took me two years to notice the bug (it manifests itself clearly only in the above mention scenario), two weeks to find it (and two seconds to fix it).
But I do think "most" OHCI implementations don't have this WDH quirk ... the sa1111 is pretty old by now.
old and discontinued (thanks God). Given SA1111's other bugs, this one is just minor, insignificant, etc.....
