All,

I'd like to chime in with problems that I'm having, that are (I think)
similar to Jon's.

I have an MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum SLI MB, with 4GB of RAM (4 x 1gb).

I am getting errors that seem similar to Jon's, although I have not
yet pulled out some memory to see if the USB2.0 works.

USB 1.1 devices work fine, but plugging in 2.0 devices (examples: WD
external HD, SanDisk MobileMate SD+ Card Reader/Writer) throws error
messages like:

Jul 8 20:37:28 kernel: usb 1-3: new high speed USB device using
ehci_hcd and address 4
Jul 8 20:37:33 kernel: usb 1-3: khubd timed out on ep0out
Jul 8 20:37:38 kernel: usb 1-3: khubd timed out on ep0out
Jul 8 20:37:38 kernel: usb 1-3: device not accepting address 4, error -110
Jul 8 20:37:38 kernel: usb 1-3: new high speed USB device using
ehci_hcd and address 5
Jul 8 20:37:43 kernel: usb 1-3: khubd timed out on ep0out
Jul 8 20:37:49 kernel: usb 1-3: khubd timed out on ep0in
Jul 8 20:37:49 kernel: usb 1-3: device descriptor read/all, error -110
Jul 8 20:37:49 kernel: usb 1-3: new high speed USB device using
ehci_hcd and address 6
Jul 8 20:37:50 kernel: usb 1-3: khubd timed out on ep0in

I removed the usb2.0 module and got the devices recognized, and ran
the devices at 1.1, and then reloaded the 2.0 driver, and the computer
locked up solid...

As I said, I have not removed RAM yet. However, I threw in a usb 2.0
card, and my devices were recognized properly and worked just fine.
So, I guess it's not my devices.

I saw the bug report forwared to the list by andrew morton, and was
wondering if that is also a similar problem.

At this point, all I can offer is that it's not the devices that are
causing the problems. If it's somehow RAM related, I'll just start
banging my head against the desk now :)

Would it be advisable to enter a bug report, or does my issue, to more
experienced eyes, look like a completely different problem? Alan over
at the users' list suggested that it might look like a problem with
the usb2.0 system on my MB, to be fair, but I'm grasping now, since
someone else with a similar MB is also having problems.

Ideas? Hoping I'm not stuck with a usb2.0 add-on card,

Steve
