Sort of lucky.  I noticed a patch to option.c to add the PC5220 card.  So I
figured I'd give that driver a try.  I then discovered that the E600 card in
Asia uses a Qualcomm chipset.  It's not perfect but it's a start.  There is
certainly the other USBtty device that will contain the dormant triggers and
the signal stats that with really make the card work well.  For now it's
acceptable.
