More than would be nice.  In your case, that ADSL modem implements
both (a) vendor-neutral CDC Ethernet, plus (b) Microsoft-controlled
RNDIS.  Microsoft doesn't do vendor-neutral, it seems; I'm glad that
Linux driver works for you, it was pretty much a quick hack to help
support RNDIS-only devices.
