Sometimes it looks good, and others it is a big pain.  Someone else just
mentioned that they have started work on this, hopefully they pop up on
linux-usb-devel soon with some code to show for this.

I'm more worried about the major/minor change that might happen.  That
might be trickier to keep correct during the transition.
