Okay, I'll keep it on a back burner.  It's not important since it 
more or less duplicates an already-existing API.

I'll give the rest of this stuff a while to sink in and then I'll send the
autosuspend patches.  They really do change the way some things work
noticeably, although in a way that shouldn't bother anyone.
