I need help debugging a problem involving uhci-hcd and usbnet (bugzilla #6747). The problem shows up as RX frame errors on a usbnet/cdc_ether device when using uhci-hcd from 2.6.17. Older versions of uhci-hcd yield no RX frame errors.
More precisely, when the user runs a 2.6.16 kernel the error counter remains 0. But when the uhci-hcd code from 2.6.17 is transplanted into 2.6.16, the counter becomes non-zero. I'm handicapped by lack of knowledge about usbnet. I can't even tell where the RX frame error counter gets incremented, let along what the causes are or how uhci-hcd could be involved.
