This is embarrassing... gmail suddenly started munging whitespace/ and wrapping lines. I was trying to follow the directions in SubmittingPatches (absolutely no attachments), but it seems Gmail just will not leave spacing alone unless I attach a patch as text/plain. It can safely be removed or wrapped in an #if 0 block. Again, I'm sorry applying it turned out to be a pain.
