That would be consistent with your EHCI controller having a hardware bug, 
wouldn't it?  Since the OHCI controller doesn't have the bug, it works 
okay.

Maybe their controllers don't have the bug.  That is, maybe it's a real 
malfunction rather than a design flaw.
