I'm experiencing regular USB keyboard/mouse lockups on my nForce 430 (x86_64) based Dell E521 using 2.6.20-rc1 (also on 2.6.19, so this is not a regression). The 430 is a problematic chipset in general it seems (as is the crappy BIOS in the Dell), and 2.6.19 was the first kernel to boot without the need for 'noapic'.
Basic scenario is keyboard or mouse stops responding after 10-15 minutes of use. Note that "use" is important...I can let it sit unused overnight without a problem, but interactive use of either input device results in a lockup fairly quickly. Also of note is that only one device locks up at a time. For example, if the mouse locks up, the keyboard will continue to work and vice-versa. Unplugging the device and replugging results in... usb 1-5: USB disconnect, address 2 ohci_hcd 0000:00:0b.0: IRQ INTR_SF lossage ohci_hcd 0000:00:0b.0: leak ed ffff8100016660a0 (#82) state 0 (has tds) ...after which no further USB activity is seen. The device is no longer recognized and all USB devices are dead. Mouse and keyboard are emulated by a KVM which works reliably for me on 2.6.19/2.6.20-rc1 on non-nForce 430 machines. USB/input-related dmesg below. I'm happy to provide more info, turn on debug options, try patches, etc. --Adam usbcore: registered new interface driver usbfs usbcore: registered new interface driver hub usbcore: registered new device driver usb usbcore: registered new interface driver libusual usbcore: registered new interface driver hiddev usbcore: registered new interface driver usbhid drivers/usb/input/hid-core.c: v2.6:USB HID core driver ohci_hcd: 2006 August 04 USB 1.1 'Open' Host Controller (OHCI) Driver (PCI) ohci_hcd 0000:00:0b.0: OHCI Host Controller ohci_hcd 0000:00:0b.0: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 1 ohci_hcd 0000:00:0b.0: irq 23, io mem 0xfe02f000 usb usb1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice hub 1-0:1.0: USB hub found hub 1-0:1.0: 8 ports detected usb usb2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice hub 2-0:1.0: USB hub found hub 2-0:1.0: 8 ports detected usb 1-5: new low speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 2 usb 1-5: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice input: Avocent AutoView 400 as /class/input/input0 input: USB HID v1.10 Keyboard [Avocent AutoView 400] on usb-0000:00:0b.0-5 input: Avocent AutoView 400 as /class/input/input1 input: USB HID v1.10 Mouse [Avocent AutoView 400] on usb-0000:00:0b.0-5 input: PC Speaker as /class/input/input2 usb 1-5: USB disconnect, address 2 ohci_hcd 0000:00:0b.0: IRQ INTR_SF lossage ohci_hcd 0000:00:0b.0: leak ed ffff8100016660a0 (#82) state 0 (has tds) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
