I have a Philips PSC805 USB audio device which has been working fine for several years on a USB 1.0 hub. I bought a new 2.0 hub and can't get it working.
Here's a trace form plugging it in and they trying to play something. All that is plugged into the USB 2.0 hub is a USB 1.0 keyboard and the USB 1.0 audio device, it can't possibly be out of bandwidth. Using current Linus tree. 2.6.20-rc1+ # CONFIG_USB_BANDWIDTH is not set [ 494.673218] hub 5-3:1.0: state 7 ports 7 chg 0000 evt 0020 [ 494.673462] hub 5-3:1.0: port 5, status 0101, change 0001, 12 Mb/s [ 494.800844] hub 5-3:1.0: debounce: port 5: total 100ms stable 100ms status 0x101 [ 494.872717] usb 5-3.5: new full speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 10 [ 494.964502] usb 5-3.5: ep0 maxpacket = 8 [ 494.987740] usb 5-3.5: skipped 8 descriptors after interface [ 494.987746] usb 5-3.5: skipped 2 descriptors after interface [ 494.987750] usb 5-3.5: skipped 1 descriptor after endpoint [ 494.987754] usb 5-3.5: skipped 2 descriptors after interface [ 494.987757] usb 5-3.5: skipped 1 descriptor after endpoint [ 494.987761] usb 5-3.5: skipped 1 descriptor after interface [ 494.988860] usb 5-3.5: default language 0x0409 [ 494.996343] usb 5-3.5: new device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=0 [ 494.996348] usb 5-3.5: Product: Philips PSC805 [ 494.996352] usb 5-3.5: Manufacturer: Philips Electronics [ 494.996386] usb 5-3.5: uevent [ 494.996407] usb 5-3.5: usb_probe_device [ 494.996472] usb 5-3.5: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice [ 494.997357] usb 5-3.5: adding 5-3.5:1.0 (config #1, interface 0) [ 494.997391] usb 5-3.5:1.0: uevent [ 494.997420] snd-usb-audio 5-3.5:1.0: usb_probe_interface [ 494.997425] snd-usb-audio 5-3.5:1.0: usb_probe_interface - got id [ 495.044636] usb 5-3.5: adding 5-3.5:1.1 (config #1, interface 1) [ 495.044673] usb 5-3.5:1.1: uevent [ 495.044703] usb 5-3.5: adding 5-3.5:1.2 (config #1, interface 2) [ 495.044728] usb 5-3.5:1.2: uevent [ 495.044752] usb 5-3.5: adding 5-3.5:1.3 (config #1, interface 3) [ 495.044774] usb 5-3.5:1.3: uevent [ 495.044795] usbhid 5-3.5:1.3: usb_probe_interface [ 495.044799] usbhid 5-3.5:1.3: usb_probe_interface - got id [ 495.057304] input: Philips Electronics Philips PSC805 as /class/input/input7 [ 495.057369] usb 5-3.5: link qh8-0601/c27d8380 start 6 [1/2 us] [ 495.057408] drivers/usb/core/file.c: looking for a minor, starting at 96 [ 495.057444] input,hiddev96: USB HID v1.00 Device [Philips Electronics Philips PSC805] on usb-0000:00:1d.7-3.5 [ 495.057528] drivers/usb/core/inode.c: creating file '010' [ 495.057544] hub 5-3:1.0: state 7 ports 7 chg 0000 evt 0020 [ 507.490458] ehci_hcd 0000:00:1d.7: iso sched full f06a7580 (now 324 max 8516) [ 507.490467] cannot submit datapipe for urb 0, error -28: not enough bandwidth [ 507.491763] usbdev5.10_ep01: ep_device_release called for usbdev5.10_ep01 Bus 005 Device 010: ID 0471:0155 Philips Bus 005 Device 008: ID 046d:c512 Logitech, Inc.
