The "dd" hang is not expected; it reflects an issue in the unlink
path that seems to combine (a) VIA hardware misbehavior, specifically
not issuing an IAA completion IRQ it's supposed to issue, combined
with (b) software misbehavior in the watchdog timer that's working
around that hardware bug.

Once DD hangs, yes other stuff may start to hang too.
