Basically just add a Signed-off-by: line(s) to the patch, denoting you or
other people, who sign this patch as their work.

("chapter" 11 deals with signing patches).

Sorry, I don't seem to understand you well. Most keyboards, for example,
are also "Generic Desktop" (i.e. their report descriptor starts with bytes
0x05 0x01). And keyboards indeed _are_ thing that should be picked by
hid-input.
