I think you misunderstand. The Linux code doesn't contain the ident codes and
device strings for the Manfacturer and Product. THEY COME FROM THE DEVICE. So
the device is claiming to be a Lexmark Color JetPrinter. Xerox probably just
OEM'd the product.

This is completely irrelevant.
You should just need to print to /dev/usb/lp0. What is the problem?
