Hi guys,
I'm sorry. I guess I got lost in the
documentation.
I updated my LINUX to kernel 2.4.5 with USB support and linked
the available
hpijs driver into AFPL GhostScript 7.0.
But now what?
When I connect my HP DeskJet 640C to my box I get the follwing
syslog messages:
Oct 1 17:28:46 willy kernel: hub.c: USB new device
connect on bus1/2, assigned device number 4
Oct 1 17:28:46 willy kernel: usb.c: USB device 4 (vend/prod 0x3f0/0x2004) is not claimed by any active driver. Oct 1 17:28:46 willy /etc/hotplug/usb.agent: ... no drivers for USB product 3f0/2004/400 I do have following line in my usbmgr.conf:
# Deskjet 640C [HP]
vendor 0x3f0 product 0x2004 module printer 'usb-printer-id /proc/bus/usb/001/004' returns
correctly:
MFG:HEWLETT-PACKARD;MDL:DESKJET
640C;CMD:MLC,PCL,PML;CLASS:PRINTER;DESCRIPTION:Hewlett-Packard DeskJet
640C;VSTATUS:$CB0$RC0,ff,DN,IDLE;/@
But 'usbmodules --device /proc/bus/usb/001/004' returns
nothing.
How do I link the GhostScript hpijs driver to the USB device
that the usb.agent find it?
Thanks a lot for any help,
-- Bernd
