There seems to be two designs actually in use:
1. at76c503a MAC (see http://at76c503a.sf.net, badly incomplete), used by
D-Link and Linksys

2. a Cypress EZUSB USB to PCMCIA bridge, with a PCMCIA card plugged into it
(no known driver), used by Compaq and maybe others.

It should also be possible to use the Prism II (and 2.5) MACs in a USB form. I
don't know of any manufacturer (maybe a reference design?), but I vaguely
recall that one of the wlan developers was around asking some questions a
while back.
