Hello,

Whenever I try to sync with my Clie 760, a kernel oops happens. I've
been "talking" with Greg about this and the oops messages processed
through ksymoops have been less than helpful (apparently showing the
oops in a section of code that should never be entered... ksymoops 2.4.1
and earlier show the oops being elsewhere.). Anyway, he's not quite
sure what the problem is, but says that things are working for other
Clie users.

I'm completely ready to accept that the problem is UBD (a technical
support term: User Brain Damage =), but I really cannot figure out how
to get my Clie to sync with my linux box. (I'm using my wife's Win2k
box to sync right now. <shudder/>)

Is there anyone out there who does have their Clie syncing fine with
their linux box? Even better, someone with a 760? Is there another
PalmOS 4.1 PDA that's syncing fine? Heck, just for the sake of being
competlete, is anyone else having problems syncing with their Clie?

I've tried with three difference boxes and the results are all the same.
One box ia an SMP Xeon system, one is a UP PIII system, and one is a UP
Thunderbird system. I've tried 2.4.10, 2.4.9 (no Clie support there),
and 2.4.10-ac4, all with the same problem. I'm using the pilot-link
0.9.5 tools and trying to do a backup with:

        pilot-xfer -p /dev/ttyUSB1 -b clie

The visor module is loaded and the hotsync button has already been
pressed and every time I hit enter after the above command, the oops
appears.

Thanks,
pete
