I have a similar problem with my PhotoSmart 618 on an Athlon 800 with VIA KT133 chipset - but different error messages - I get a couple of bulk transfer / msg timeout messages, and then the copying operation just sits there. It'll often transfer several megabytes before locking up - often eight or nine... Anyway, I have a suspicion that the problem is related to the UHCI drivers rather than the mass-storage drivers, because I've recently tried the self-same cam (and exact same kernel - 2.4.13) on an old P200MMX I've been given (Intel 430TX chipset) and it seems to work perfectly so far... I also found a message via Google, written *ages* ago by someone who used to use this model camera with an OHCI chipset with no problems, but suffered the same problem as me when using a VIA chipset and UHCI drivers. Anyone have any ideas what the problem could be? All the best, -- Alastair M.
