Hello!

I just upgraded to RedHat 7.2, and suddenly have problems with USB. For
starters, the hotplug scripts have vanished from /etc/init.d, although
the hotplug RPM is indeed installed. So I haven't the foggiest how to
automagically load USB--though ``modprobe usb-uhci'' seems to suffice.

The bigger problem is that my BusLink hard drive is acting flaky. The
usbide module loads just fine, but now I can't mount the ext2 filesystem
anymore. I keep getting a ``bad superblock'' error. I made the mistake
of taking the error literally, and reformatting the drive, but I still
get the same error.

To muddy the waters, however, the problem started after converting the
filesystem to ext3 (40GB fscks are awful!). I thought that might be the
problem, so I tried both mke2fs and `mke2fs -j' in hopes of resolving
the problem, but try as I might I can't mount the drive anymore. Help!

Also, I would have searched the list archive first--but the archive
isn't searchable. :-( I also checked Google and usenet, but found
nothing resmbling this problem.

Thanks,
Len.

That's flooding, not throttling. Your goal of getting messages
through earlier is subverted if you bring the machine down.
